Solange Heilenkotter
Artwork Description
Solange Heilenkötter (Chile, 1961) Solange Heilenkötter graduated with a degree in Graphic Design from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. After a successful career in graphic design and art direction, she embarked on a journey of self-discovery in visual art. Her artistic expression is inherently three-dimensional, existing within the realm of sculpture. Heilenkötter crafts her own visual language, employing materials such as polypropylene sheets, acrylic, steel sheets, and LED lights, among others. Through a play of light and shadow, she explores the fragility and delicacy of her chosen mediums. Heilenkötter's artistic inquiry revolves around the fusion of materiality and space, pushing the boundaries of creation to new horizons. Each piece is meticulously crafted by hand, eschewing digital tools for a more tactile approach. Her minimalist works transcend the two-dimensional plane, engaging with space, light, and even gravity, as they rise and fall in free motion. Since 2015, Heilenkötter has showcased her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Chile, Argentina, and the USA. Her pieces can be found in collections across Chile, the USA, Peru, and Argentina, as well as in private collections in Chile and the USA.
